The wounded man was brought to a local hospital, where he next died.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the families had gathered for a birthday party inside a trailer when the shooting took place.

The suspect, the boyfriend of one of the female victims, went to the residence, entered, and started shooting people at the party before taking his own life, police said in a statement. We are still investigating to find out why

None of the kids at the birthday party were wounded in the shooting, according to police.

Officials have not issued the names of the victims.

Colorado Springs Police Chief Vince Nisky said: From the officers who opened fire to the investigators, we were all shocked. This is something you hope will never happen in your own congregation. 

Colorado Springs Mayor John Suther said the senseless act of violence shocked the community and called for prayers for the victims, their families, and first responders.

A woman living in Trailer Park told the Denver Post that she was awakened by the sound of gunfire and thought it was raining with thunder.

The Gazette, a Colorado Springs-based newspaper, stated that families and friends of the sufferers gathered outside the trailer on Sunday afternoon to grieve the victims.

Local media recalled that this was the third mass shooting in Colorado Springs since October 2015, which included a Halloween massacre and an attack on a family planning clinic.

The United States has been the scene of a series of large-scale shootings in recent months, including one at a FedEx location in Indiana Police, one at offices in California, a third at Boulder, and a third at a grocery store in Colorado. At various massage parlors in Atlanta.
