According to New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, she was left touched by a recent event when someone claiming to be a supporter of President Donald Trump left a note on a wall close to her office, stating that he was entirely in support of her agenda.
At the same time, the person also stood behind his support for Trump himself -- something which might strike some as odd and even contradictory.
Ocasio-Cortez was surprised by the revelation herself and quickly took the opportunity to ask the man how he felt about supporting both her and Trump at the same time.
He responded by explaining that he strongly agreed with the views Ocasio-Cortez has expressed about climate change and the state of the world, and he believed that it was important for everyone to get on board with those ideas.
At the same time, he also saw a lot of good things in Trump's agenda and did not want to undermine his support for the president on the other hand.
The progressive rising star shared on Twitter: "Astonishingly, his sign read: "Trump supporters for Ocasio-Cortez. was pretty astonished. We shook hands, he introduced himself, and told me he wanted to show his support. I somehow got it out: 'With all respect sir, how do you… manage to support both of us at the same time?"
She added: "This is what he said: 'I've been saying for years that climate change is our most important crisis. You're one of the only ones who's been willing to be decisive on it. I like you. I can tell that you are genuine and fighting for us. You're real and you get it. I thanked him and his family from the bottom of my heart."
Many have chimed in to point out that the views the man has expressed have been a bit strange, but he has also received some positive responses on social media, with some pointing out that they also felt similarly about some politicians on the scene right now.
This, and certain other events have painted the upcoming 2020 election in a fascinating light, and it looks like observers might see an intense race between Trump and his Democratic counterpart, especially if it someone with vastly different views than his own like AOC's fans -- Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.
Do you think many Trump supporters also like AOC, yes or no?
