Tensions in U.S. politics have been quite high recently, with many high-ranking figures finding themselves in problematic situations over statements they have made and actions they have taken.

New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been subjected to some targeted attacks from various sides in recent times. This week, she has been criticized yet again -- this time over a retweet.

The incident concerns a tweet posted by an alleged terrorist supporter, which was subsequently retweeted by Ocasio-Cortez herself.

It is not clear if the politician was aware of the context of the tweet at the time she posted it, although it did not take long for the incident to draw the attention of many of her critics.

Ocasio-Cortez has expressed disappointment over the treatment she has received in the press recently, pointing out that some of her statements are being unfairly criticized.

Threats that she had allegedly made were discussed as well and were something that the politician wanted to explain in detail.

Ocasio-Cortez has been a somewhat controversial figure in politics ever since she got involved in them.

She has been very vocal and outspoken about some of her views, and this has drawn a lot of attention to her from multiple sides.

Still, it does not look like she has any plans to back down from her position anytime soon.

Quite on the contrary, Ocasio-Cortez seems to be the kind of person driven by a desire to prove everyone wrong.

Hopefully, she is not going to fall victim to her own attitude at some point, as has happened to other politicians in the past.

The young politician has some interesting views about her role as a lawmaker.

She tweeted Friday: "I find it revealing when people mock where I come from, & say they’re going to ‘send me back to waitressing,’ as if that’s bad or shameful. It’s as though they think being a member of Congress makes you intrinsically ‘better’ than a waitress."

She added: Bartending + waitressing (especially in NYC) means you talk to 1000s of people over the years. Forces you to get great at reading people + hones a razor-sharp BS detector. Just goes to show that what some consider to be ‘unskilled labor’ can actually be anything but."

Do you think AOC is right or wrong about her views on politics?
