Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has continued to progress in her career as a politician, and still manages to shake up the establishment with each new comment she makes.

Just recently, she stated that she saw former President Ronald Reagan as a negative influence on American politics, pointing specifically towards his actions that she deemed racist.

The former bartender revealed: "So you think about this image of welfare queens and what he was really trying to talk about was … this like really resentful vision of essentially black women who were doing nothing, that were ‘sucks’ on our country. It gives people a logical reason, a ‘logical’ reason to say, ‘oh yeah, no, toss out the whole social safety net."

Ocasio-Cortez also talked about another former president of the country, Franklin Roosevelt, criticizing his New Deal which pulled the nation from out of the Great Depression that it was going through at the time.

The star of the progressive movement stated: "The New Deal was an extremely economically racist policy that drew little red lines around black and brown communities and it invested in white America. It allowed white Americans access to home loans that black Americans didn’t have access to, giving them access to the greatest source of intergenerational wealth."

According to AOC, the progress made by the U.S. at that time was at a substantial cost for minorities, while white majorities ended up benefiting strongly from the whole situation.

Ocasio-Cortez explained that white Americans at the time had better access to loans and other financial instruments, which only served to further the divide between different races in the country.

She also had plenty of other comments to add about the current and former administrations of the country and ended up speaking for one hour on these issues.

Ocasio-Cortez seems to have a very critical view of people who exploit social systems for their own gain, and this could be a sign of what people can expect from her own policies in the future.

Reception towards her actions has been somewhat mixed so far, with some criticizing her for an approach perceived as aggressive, while others have had nothing but praise for Ocasio-Cortez and the way she has been handling herself on the political scene.

Do you agree or disagree with what AOC said regarding the former presidents?
