Black Friday Shooting In Alabama Could Spark New Debate About Policing In America

A Black Friday shooting in Alabama has shaken an entire community, did the police kill the wrong guy?

Authorities in Alabama are still searching for a shooter who terrorized early Black Friday shoppers at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover.

A 21-year-old Hueytown man, combat engineer Emantic Fitzgerald Bradford Jr., the son of a Birmingham cop, was shot and killed by Hoover police.

"We regret that our initial media release was not totally accurate, but new evidence indicates that it was not," according to a new statement from the police.

Rectors said at a press conference: “During the fight, one of the males produced a handgun and shot the other male twice in the torso. Two uniformed Hoover police officers providing security at the mall were nearby and heard the gunshots. While moving toward the shooting scene, one of the officers encountered a suspect brandishing a pistol and shot him. That individual, a 21-year-old male from Hueytown, was pronounced dead on the scene.”
