Arista Records announced today, in a joint endeavor with Simon Cowell’s Syco Music, that America’s Got Talent star Courtney Hadwin has officially been signed to a recording deal.
A native of Hartlepool in Northern England, Hadwin spoke of how lucky she felt to be joining Syco Music as well as how excited the whole situation makes her feel. She feels the ability to be able to continue to work on original songs, staying true to herself, is pretty much a dream come true.
Although the 14-year-old did finish only six in her round of competition, she is still lined up to appear on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” on NBC early in 2019. She is also reported as being in the studio working on new music tracks to be released sometime in 2019 as well.
Hadwin will join a long list of talent discovered by Simon Cowell, through the show America’s Got Talent. Some of those made famous from his endeavors include Fifth Harmony’s Camile Cabello, One Direction's very own Louie Tomlinson, as well as many many others who went on to achieve post appearance careers.
Cowell spoke of Hadwin, stating that he remembered her very first audition, and was very excited at the opportunity to work alongside her to help build her career. David Massey, of Arista, stated that Hadwin was a voice and talent well beyond her years and that Arista was honored to be involved in the next phase of Hadwin's development, alongside Syco Music.
During her appearance on America’s Got Talent, Hadwin wowed the judges and audiences alike from her first appearance, which received her the Golden Buzzer from judge Howie Mandel. In fact, it was during the Golden Buzzer appearance that Mandel went so far as to compare Hadwin to Janis Joplin.
Cowell was more than impressed by the young phenom’s performance, one which garnered over 11 million views that night, as well as having been viewed by over 130 million people in the first week online.
Syco Music representative Tyler Brown said “Courtney is a force of nature. When she hits the stage there is no one like her in the world. A unique and exciting talent. We can’t wait to hear the music she is going to create over the coming years.”
Do you think Hadwin is destined to become the next big thing in music?
