U.S. President Donald Trump did not miss an occasion to take a jab at Joe Biden during a recent event, referencing the former vice president’s recent heavy presence in the media over his kissing and touching behavior.
Seven women have so far come forward to accuse Biden over acting inappropriately towards them, and many people have expressed their disappointment and disgust at Biden over his alleged behavior, especially young Democrats occupying the Twitter space.
Trump enjoys mocking Biden over the situation, as reports indicate that this might not be the first such opportunity he has taken advantage of.
The former reality TV said at a recent gathering with other Republicans: "I was going to call him, I don’t know him well. I was going to say, ‘Welcome to the world, Joe, you having a good time?"
He also added: "I said, ‘General, come here, give me a kiss,’ I felt like Joe Biden, but I meant it."
However, some have pointed out that Trump might be a bit of a hypocrite here, given that he faced serious allegations of sexual abuse not too long ago.
The president was recorded describing sexual assaults he had committed against women in the past and sounded quite proud of himself for it.
Trump also got the benefit of not losing the support of his voters, which he continued to boast about after the incident.
Now, the president’s attacks on Biden seem a bit strange in the context of everything observers have seen from him in the past.
However, this is far from the first time that Trump has portrayed himself in a contradicting way.
Many suspect that the president might retain a large portion of his support for the upcoming 2020 elections despite the way he has been behaving lately.
This is something he has alluded to when he said: "With all the things I’ve done, they never wavered. They never wavered. Can you believe? Anybody else they’d be down to 2 percent right now, and we just had our best."
Trump remains quite active on the political scene, and it does not look like he has been too profoundly affected by the developments around him.
Do you think Trump is wrong or right for attacking Biden so early on?
