Bill Maher is not all too happy with Hillary Clinton, according to his recent public statements, and the primary source of his displeasure is the fact that the former New York senator apparently "stole his act."
This came shortly after Clinton made an appearance on
Clinton then went on to make certain remarks about China and potentially partnering with them in order to take down Trump.
She encouraged the Asian nation to get Trump taxes and leak them to the media. Her comment was meant as a joke.
Clinton said: "Imagine, Rachel, that you had one of the Democratic nominees for 2020 on your show and that person said, 'You know, the only other adversary of ours who's anywhere near as good as the Russians is China. So why should Russia have all the fun? And since Russia is clearly backing Republicans, why don't we ask China to back us?... And not only that, China, if you're listening, why don't you get Trump's tax returns. I'm sure our media would richly reward you."
Moreover, according to Maher, these remarks were quite similar to ones he had made himself not too long ago.
Maher even pulled out a clip from his speech in question, where he can be heard asking China to get Trump's tax returns.
Maher ended his statement by telling Clinton that she "should have just asked him before the election" if she was looking for extra material.
Clinton has not responded so far, although various people on social media have been discussing the similarities between her statement and that delivered by Maher.
According to some, it was a deliberate reference. Others seem to believe that Clinton was trying to use someone else's words to promote her ideas.
In any case, Clinton has not responded to this situation, and it does not look like there is that much attention focused on her as a result of it, so she will likely continue her appearances as planned.
Do you think Clinton was wrong for using Maher's material without crediting him, yes or no?
