No Future for the United States Without Me, Trump Says -- Does He Have a Point?

In a somewhat surprising move, President Trump gave an hour and a half speech in New Hampshire, a state he lost in 2016. He met supporters at Southern New Hampshire University and told the rallygoers that their future and financial stability depend on his reelection.

It does not matter whether you love me or hate me; you still have to vote for me, Donald Trump asserted.

In his address to the public, Trump dismissed the increased fears about the domestic economy and reassured the crowd that the United States had the hottest economy worldwide. He also warned his New Hampshire supporters that if he does not win the upcoming elections, their 401(k) retirement accounts will go

Donald Trump also focused on bilateral relations with China and the ongoing trade war. He once again confirmed that China would very much prefer to make a trade deal as the current situation costs it millions of jobs, the President said. Trump went on saying that Washington was not ready yet to sign an agreement, and we do not necessarily need to be in a hurry.

Along with China, Trump also criticized the European Union, saying that it was worse than China, just smaller.

The event in New Hampshire was the first rally for the President since the mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, leaving 31 people dead and dozens injured. In his speech, Trump said that his administration could not make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves. Instead, he encouraged the expansion of medical facilities ready to host mentally ill people.

In his opinion, our country misses an adequate number of institutions for the mentally ill. Some of them, said Trump, could be potentially dangerous people and are now walking around without proper medical care. The President did not clarify how the government would finance such an initiative.

A recent University of New Hampshire Survey found out that 42% of the local adults approved Trump while 53% disapproved him. The results also proved that 49% of the New Hampshire residents supported the economic politics of the President while 44% were not in favor of it.

Before leaving New Hampshire for Bedminister, New Jersey, the President suggested that he did not win the Granite State last time as the Democrats stole the elections from him.

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree with Trump's statement that the future of the United States depends on his reelection in 2020?
