The polyp released during President Joe Biden's colonoscopy last week "is a critical, growing, but perceived malignant ulcer" that no longer needs to be addressed at this time, a White House doctor said in a letter released Wednesday.

The polyp was identified as a "tubular adenoma," similar to the one in Biden that was removed in 2008, Drs. Kevin O'Connor in a letter, written Tuesday.

He said a general observation was also recommended that Biden should have another colonoscopy every seven to 10 years.

President Biden transfers power to Kamala Harris during a period of physical activity

Biden briefly handed over power to Deputy President Kamala Harris on Friday as he made the process, making her the first woman to hold the presidency in American history.

In addition to the colonoscopy, Biden underwent a physical examination and O'Connor announced on Friday that the president was "healthy" and "fit and fit" for the job.

Biden, 79, is the oldest person to take over the presidency of the US, leading to a growing interest in his health and well-being.
