As Venezuela slips further into chaos and disorder, the U.S. Government has decided to completely pull the plug on its diplomatic presence in the country.

The administration has announced the official decision to withdraw all of its current diplomats operating in Venezuela, and it is not clear when they will be coming back.

This is the continuation of an earlier decision made in January. It is not the first time U.S. officials have discussed the possibility of withdrawing diplomatic presence from Venezuela, but this is the first more serious confirmation observers got of the nation’s intention to do so.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted on Monday night: "This decision reflects the deteriorating situation in Venezuela, as well as the conclusion that the presence of U.S. diplomatic staff at the embassy has become a constraint on U.S. policy."

National Security Adviser John Bolton recently said the following on a TV show: "There are countless conversations going on between members of the National Assembly and members of the military in Venezuela, talking about what might come, how they might move to support the opposition."

For the time being, diplomatic relations with Venezuela appear to be deteriorating, with significant disagreements between the two governments.

The United States administration has made it clear that they do not support President Nicolas Maduro and want him pushed out of his position.

At the same time, a new opposition leader,  Juan Guaido, has appeared on the horizon, reportedly propped up by Western governments.

The situation in the country is reaching critical levels, according to reports, and many are fearing the worst for the citizens of Venezuela.

At the same time, many have requested that the U.S. intervene in the region and offer assistance.

This has been a divisive topic, both within the U.S. and outside of the country, and it does not look like a conclusion is going to be reached anytime soon.

For now, many American politicians seem to prefer to take a step back from the situation and have been reluctant to get themselves more involved in the ongoing talks.

Do you think it is right or wrong for the U.S. to pull all of its diplomats from Venezuela?
